How to Style // Restyle Cardigan

The holidays are here and for those on a budget like me, this is the best time to rework pieces in your wardrobe. This blog is about learning how to maximize every piece in your wardrobe. Finding timeless pieces and learning how to build looks around it.
What I love about this cardigan is that you can dress it up or down. The way I restyled it was simple,l. I made it into a dress. When it comes to my body I've learn to take advantage of things like my height. Instead of complaining about things not fitting. I've found things that work specifically for me. Perfect example is long cardigans. Technically on the average woman it is suppose to hit the knee but on me it reaches to my ankle.

I love that, it add more volume and appeal to the look. I style my cardigan as a dress by wearing a white button up, and a wide waist belt. I added two chains, one in which I doubled, and finished the look with my black ankle boot. Simple yet chic! This is the ultimate goal for every woman. To find looks that are simple yet chic. Something that is easy to put together on days you may not know what to wear, or your running late. It's better than going to the go to all black look.

Whether it's a cardigan, dress or your favorite long button down shirt, learn to build around these pieces. With a dress you can either wear a skirt over the bottom, or wear and top and add a waist belt to hold it together. This is a great way to get more wear out of that favorite dress you love or not so favorite dress.

Dressing is about creativity, having fun and getting to know you just a little bit more.

Holiday Style // Love Red

Classic red is just a style tradition. You can't go without wearing red during the holiday season. It's about as normal as drinking water.  What I love is the variations of red. This coat was one I got last year from my church. It was around the time I really wasn't working and couldn't afford to get a warm coat.

Stripes & Culottes

NYFW this year was such a blessing. Way more than I could have dreamed. However, between the move of the shows from Lincoln Center to actually buildings it made it difficult to commute back and forth. I didn't know whether I was coming or going this week. It was a bit difficult to keep up with my looks as well due to my work schedule. However, I was able to capture this one which was my favorite look from the whole week. And guess what Jesus styled me!!!!

Accesory of the Week // Alex & Ani

Running home after school with report card in one hand and a joy in your heart. You get home to show your parents how much you achieved.  They take pride and joy in their  baby girl so the next day they take you out shopping. They find a trinket that's more that an enough to show how proud they are. A simple charm of achievement, that showcase how proud they are and motivates you to forever achieve the best and accomplish every goal you ever put forward. This is just a speck of what some little girls dream of.
