Thrifting: A New Way to Shop

Growing up, when you have several siblings there was a thing called hand-me-downs. If you were the oldest child you were happy because you got new things. Wasn't all the same for everyone that came after. Your childhood included clothes past down from your oldest siblings. I remember watching sitcoms that talked about this, even friends that told me how much it annoyed them. It's crazy to think now that we are older, having second hand clothing is a thing. Not just a thing but a way of life especially in New York City.

Metropolitan Museum // China Through the Looking Glass

During my trip to the met museum I had the privilege of checking out the latest exhibition; China through the Looking Glass. The exhibition showcases how Chinese cultural has impact the Western fashion world. With various designs made by designers like Paul Poiret to Yves Saint Laurent, we see how the Chinese cultural has inspired Western designers.

Places to Go // The Metropolitan Museum

Summer in the city is almost always the best. Picnics at the park, kayaking trips, beach outings, etc. It also a great time to check out some amazing exhibits at the museum. For the past oh year I have been trying to make a trip, but it would always get pushed back or just didn't have the money. Recently one of dear friends who I love more than gum drops and candy canes, invite me to visit the Metropolitan Museum with her. So, I just had to share with you guys my favorite, exhibits culture. I also got to see the Fashion Exhibit: China thru the looking Glass. You can check out photos and details of that in the next post.

Part II of my NYFW journey was nothing but magical and inspiring. It's amazing to know these designer, like myself put so much time and care into each and every single piece they create. It's nothing short of magnificent. Design is an art that should not be taken for granted. This is surely motivation for me to keep going towards my dream.
