How to Style // Black Jeans 9-to-5

As a wardrobe stylist and personal consultant I get a billion and one questions everyday. Especially, from people who ask me do a prep lab my outfits in the morning. To be honestly I really don't plan any of my outfits. It's truly a gift from God to know what works and doesn't work. A gift that decided to enhance and build by studying, and practicing hands on. Right now I'm at a stage where I truly want to help people with finding their own personal style, loving themselves and ultimately living a better life. So, I've decided to start doing How To's and Styling Series on the blog. I believe this will be a great way to really just answer any of your questions as well as really give you testimony on how styling my own body change the way I looked at myself. It truly is about how you feel on the inside and what you wear on the outside that will build your confidence and character. With the provide tools I hope to expand your knowledge and mine. First Up is two part series; How to style Black Jeans for, "Your 9 to 5" and "Saturday Night Fun"

Let's get this number one tip out the way. Invest in a black blazer! This is one of my ten must have in your closet items (coming soon to the blog) that can save your look every time. It will go with absolutely everything in your closet, from typical denim jeans to skirts, matching with every color in the rainbow. You can't go wrong with a black blazer. You want to make sure you get one that flatters your waist line and arm length comes right above your wrist. This will assure that it is a perfect fit. As well as being able to cuff a button up sleeve over your blazer arm for an added detailed.

To complete the look go with a blouse that has a fun detailed feature or fun print. It will add character to the look especially if it is a ninety percent black. You want to give the remaining ten percent to something fun that ties the outfit together. I went for this lovely green sleeveless draped blouse from H&M. I love that it's just fabric draped down like a tie. Green is one of my favorite colors to wear especially when it's sunny. Lastly, I added my metallic pumps from Loft, to complete the look. The black mixed with the subtle silver gives the look that extra dazzle without drawing too much focus.
Remember when your dressing you always want to have a balance. There needs to be one piece that the whole outfit is centered around when going for a clean 9 to 5 look. The main piece is the star of the show and the full look is the supporting actors.

Holiday Style // Love Red

Classic red is just a style tradition. You can't go without wearing red during the holiday season. It's about as normal as drinking water.  What I love is the variations of red. This coat was one I got last year from my church. It was around the time I really wasn't working and couldn't afford to get a warm coat.

Stripes & Culottes

NYFW this year was such a blessing. Way more than I could have dreamed. However, between the move of the shows from Lincoln Center to actually buildings it made it difficult to commute back and forth. I didn't know whether I was coming or going this week. It was a bit difficult to keep up with my looks as well due to my work schedule. However, I was able to capture this one which was my favorite look from the whole week. And guess what Jesus styled me!!!!

Accesory of the Week // Alex & Ani

Running home after school with report card in one hand and a joy in your heart. You get home to show your parents how much you achieved.  They take pride and joy in their  baby girl so the next day they take you out shopping. They find a trinket that's more that an enough to show how proud they are. A simple charm of achievement, that showcase how proud they are and motivates you to forever achieve the best and accomplish every goal you ever put forward. This is just a speck of what some little girls dream of.
