On the Runway // Resort 2016


It's amazing how the fashion calendar is so different from the consumer calendar. In fashion the calendar is a year ahead. So, while the average consumer is shopping during the year, the designers are creating for the following year. Hence, why all fashion weeks showcase designs a year ahead. It's so buyers, retailers, etc, can have time to look at the new looks and pick what they believe will sell.

We are currently in the Resort season, this is where designers showcase their latest take on next years resort runway trends. Resort is usually thought of as things you would wear on a vacation, whether it's a trip to Dubai or Russia. They want you stylish yet ready for the weather. From a little spice in Latin class to big fur coats keeping you warm for your resort winter trip, these are my top looks I feel are too cute to wait for.

I am a huge fan of long dresses, my two favorite styles are pleated and double layered. I am currently drooling over Christopher Kane and Valentino piece below.

A few of us also would think Fall garments wouldn't be appropriate but if you are someone who loves the winter season, this is perfect for you. From Micheal Kors play on fall colors and patterns to Jason Wu oversized Fur coat, it gives me an urge to want to travel to Russia just to wear them. Not everyone typical goes somewhere sunny for their resort vaca, so it's great to see another perspective of Resort style.

Stripes & Culottes

NYFW this year was such a blessing. Way more than I could have dreamed. However, between the move of the shows from Lincoln Center to actually buildings it made it difficult to commute back and forth. I didn't know whether I was coming or going this week. It was a bit difficult to keep up with my looks as well due to my work schedule. However, I was able to capture this one which was my favorite look from the whole week. And guess what Jesus styled me!!!!
